ALL AMERICAN HEROES
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The camera opens to a gymnasium where two men in hoodies and sweatpants do cardio-training on an amateur wrestling mat, The two figures seem intent on having no distractions, hoods up and both circling each other at fast pace. Suddenly one of the figures stops as the front of his hood notices the camera bearing down on there exercises. Furious, the figure motions for the other to stop as well, throwing his hood back to reveal none other than Kurt Angle in the hood, his face stuck with one eyebrow cocked and his expression in disbelief at the presence of someone else on their training ground.
"Hey! Who's this clown here who can't read the "Do Not Enter" sign on the door of the gym. Dude, he better not be one of your guys again playing a prank or I swear I won't be able to come back here to-"
Angle's voice stops when the other man throws back his hood to reveal Jack Swagger under the hood. Slapping Kurt on the side, Jack smiles and shakes his head before trying to reason with the American Hero.
"Relax, Kurt. This isn't one of my eager fans or anything, I swear. If they were, they would've passed out at the sight of us by now." Jack smiles and shakes his head again before staring down the camera, smirk on his face. "You know, I bet this guy works for one of those UFWA shows. Ever since we expressed interest in going into their fed, they've always been hounding us for a promo or an interview. I've been getting God knows how many emails and requests for one ever since we put in the application.
Kurt simply tilts his head at the younger wrestler and thinks back, almost disappointed, possibly due to not receiving the number of requests to brag about as Jack did. Shaking his head fast to break that train of thought, he nods his head and returns the shoulder-slap, returning his gaze to the camera.
"Alright then, fine. You want a promo, ladies and gentlemen? Fine, we'll give you one. And only one, for now. For years, the All-American American and the American Hero have been watching these 'wrestlers' on two different shows trying to please the crowd and work their 'ring magic.' Meanwhile, REAL athletes like Swagger and I are sitting at home with our hands in the air, EMBARRASSED that these 'wrestlers' represent our art and talents."
"Oh yeah, 'talents.' A word Kurt and I understand while other punks like the Motor City Machine Guns and the Age of the Fall wish they had and try too hard to fake. And it's sad, just damn sad. Because maybe, just maybe, if they paid attention to American heroes like Kurt and I, they may gain the talent that we've had for years.
"And that's another word they can't embellish, American. Kurt's face from sarcastic rapture to a more serious tone. "See, sure, some of our competitors may not even be American, but that may also be why they suck, unlike me. And those that are, like the Motor City Machine Guns, can't even engulf their national pride. They name their team after a broken-down, gutter of a city instead of the nation that keeps it from getting worse. We represent that country. Let them toy around with fancy poses and tricks. Soon as they step into the ring with an Olympic gold medalist or an amateur wrestling machine who was never pinned in his younger years, they're nothing. Nothing but posers and wannabes."
"So all those mentioned above, don't stray too far from your ego. The All American Heroes will want to put them to the test. A REAL test from REAL athletes.
"Hell, it's even in our name! A-A-H. 'AAH!' Two meanings; an exclamation in the face of rapturous shock, or a sound of terror, maybe as you feel your ankle being shattered. All we know is the All American Heroes will be hearing their name a whole lot in their reign in UFWA. Oh it's true; it's DAMN true."
"There, you got your promo. Now get out of here before we use this cameraman as a test dummy for some new moves.
